A history of Engweld (previously Engineering & Welding Supplies) & Energas from 1960 to present day
Alf & Margaret Robinson (Pictured right) started engineering & welding supplies in 1960.
Alf says: In August 1960, Margaret and I decided it was time we changed out loves and took a gamble. So it was in September 1st 1960, Engineering & welding supplies was formed, with a small shop at 115 Hessle Road, Hull and very little else, except determination to succeed.
*We could not possibly have foreseen what life had in store for us and many years it was sheer hard work before we began to see the fruits of our labour.
*As the company expanded and the staff increased, we always tried to look after our employees giving help where we could.
*We hope that is why some of you have stayed with us so long and helped to maintain the motto "A service to british industry"
A company is as good as it's staff and we would not have successded without your efforts, so we extend a big THANK YOU to you all, past and present.
